Problem exporting Illustrator .psd file that is not keeping the layers

When I export a file from Illustrator as a .psd I keep getting the message, “some containers in AI document have been flattened.” This means that when I open it in Photoshop it will only have one layer. Any solutions for preserving the layers???? Something is prompting it to post that message why doesn't it tell me what the problem is?

Do you happen to have any Grouped layers in your Illustrator file? If so, try ungroup them.

Usually this is related to transparency settings. Blend modes or reduced opacity.

What's in the file? Can you show it?
