Hi natalija38182019xhj2,
Thanks for reaching out! I understand how frustrating it can be when a feature doesn’t work as expected. Let’s figure this out this, a few Questions to Understand the Issue:
1. Could you let us know the version of Adobe Illustrator you're using?
2. What is the macOS version you're working on?
3. Is the file format of the swatches compatible with Illustrator (e.g., .ase, .ai)?
In the meantime, you can try the below suggestions:
1. Ensure that the swatch file you are trying to load is in a supported format, such as .ase (Adobe Swatch Exchange) or .ai (Illustrator file).
2. Correct Library Path:
- Go to Swatches Panel (Window > Swatches).
- Click the Swatches Library menu (the icon in the bottom-left corner of the Swatches Panel).
- Choose Other Library, navigate to the swatch file, and click Open.
3. Recheck the Swatches Panel: When you load the swatch file, it should open in a separate panel within Illustrator. You might need to click the dropdown menu in the Swatches Library window to see the loaded palette.
4. You can manually add the Swatch File: Copy the swatch file to the Illustrator Swatches Folder: Navigate to /Applications/Adobe Illustrator [Version]/Presets/[Language]/Swatches/ and paste the file here.
Restart Illustrator, and the swatches should appear in the Swatches Library > User Defined section.
5. If the issue persists, try loading another swatch file to confirm whether the issue is file-specific.
Reset Preferences (Optional):
If nothing works, try resetting Illustrator preferences. Hold Option+Command+Shift while launching Illustrator, and confirm the reset prompt. Reference: How to set preferences in Illustrator
