Hey everyone!
I'm having a problem with exporting artboards.
My document has 113 artboards, and I wanted to export them as SVG files using "Export for Screens."
The loading pop-up says 113 artboards are being exported. When I look in the folder, there are only 84 SVG files. Illustrator is simply not exporting some of them. No error message appears either.
I have already tried it on another computer but there was the same problem. I am using Windows 11 and Illustrator v 29.8.1.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?
PROBLEM SOLVED
I tried everything from duplicating to copying. Then, at the step of renaming the copies, I realized that’s where the problem begins. For some artboards, there was a space at the end of the name, and apparently Windows can’t handle that when exporting an SVG (with PNG it wasn’t a problem). So: watch out for spaces!
Thanks for your help.

Hello @Horst29621268rudt,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Are you able to identify the specific artboards that did not get exported? If yes, could you try manually exporting those artboards to check if they behave the same? Additionally, check for any broken linked layers/objects in those artboards and remove them/relink them to see if it helps.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello Anubhav,
I identified the missing artboards and already tried to just export them but it did not work. All artboards have the same layers.
I also tried to copy one missing artboard and export the new duplicate and that worked. But because there are so many artboards that cant be the only and best solution for this problem.
Looking forward to hearing your ideas.

Hello @Horst29621268rudt,
Thanks for confirming. Can you try duplicating all artboards/layers to a new file, then exporting, and checking if it helps?

Hello Anubhav,
Thank you for your answer.
Apart from the fact that all my layers would then be reduced t one, unfortunately that didn't work either. Illustratour exports just 89 instead of 113 artboards.

Hello @Horst29621268rudt,
Thanks for confirming. In that case, the only solution is to manually identify the problematic artboards and correct them. Please ensure to create a copy of the file before proceeding to preserve data.
Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Do some of these artboards perhaps have the same name?
