Problems copying and pasting illustration in Illustrator

I am having problems after selecting my illustration which is not just an outline but has other line detail and 

some of it is filled with black within the illustration.

Even when I have grouped the items sometimes some of the line work and infill within has moved out of place etc after I have copied it  and paste the illustration.

Can anyone advise why please??

It sounds like you may not be truly selecting everything you expect. Can you post screen shots of the elements selected for copy, and then the results of paste?

Actually this does not happen every time.

I am a wallpaper designer and I have drawn an egyptian column repeated.

Have sent a screenshot so you can see.

All I did was select a column and then copy and pasted

I am not as up on illustrator as photoshop.

I normally draw my designs in illustrator and colour in in photoshop for my wallpapers 

But now I am doing everything in Illustrator as this design is going to be for a 4 meter Wall Mural.

Thanks for the screenshot of your interesting design, but unless I'm missing something, it doesn't explicitly illustrate what's going wrong for you. Can you clarify?

No it's not the dancers that is the problem, or the flowers,  it was the design detail on the actual column at the top and at the bottom that broke up a bit and the lines stretched a bit.

Did not show it on the screenshot because it did not happen each time.

I was puzzled though beause I did select the column and grouped the objects so wondered why

it happened?

We have recently released an update for Illustrator 2021 (v 25.4.1), which contains some stability fixes. If you are not already on v25.4.1, then we recommend you to update to the latest version and share your observation with us.
