A specific kind of text?

Or text you have entered?

Your file is possible corrupt. Do you have a backup?

Possible only the Illustrator team can help you with the file. And most probably even they can't recover it. @Anubhav M - can you help?

You cannot save any file?

Or just this one?

Exactly where are you trying to save?

What happens when you try?

First of all:

reboot the computer

reset the Illustrator preferences

only save to the harddisk, not to a network or a thumbdrive

I cannot save any file as Ai. I'm trying to save all the files usually where i save them (It's a folder in my desktop). I did not have any issues saving them earlier.

2 days ago, i was using this same version of illustrator and i never had any issues saving any type of files anywhere.

Did you reboot the computer since then?

Do all your files contain text?

Can you turn off "Save in background" in the preferences and try again?

Yes, i have rebooted my computer and all of my files had text. never had any issues until 2 days ago.

Unchecking "Save in background" has fixed the issue. but when i do that, will i get the recovered file when the program crashes?

Hello @Muhammed5E23,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind trying to save your work to a different folder location to check if it helps? Also, try running Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

"Save in background"

Save in background has nothing to do with recovery.

On top of that: please do not rely on the recovery feature alone.

You have to make backups. Preferably on a different volume.
