Problems while saving file on NAS Server in Illustrator

We have trouble with illustrator. From time to time we can't save files. These are stored on a NAS connected with ethernet cable to our computers . Illustrator then sometimes changes the name of the file during saving. Like for example 6.ai or 12.ai How can we fix this? thanks.

Hi there, 

 

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing with Illustrator. I would request if you can share a few more details like:

 

  1. The exact version of Illustrator and the Operating System.
  2. Does this happen only while saving on NAS Server? Could you please try saving a file on the local drive and see if that works as expected.
  3. Saving a file depends on many variables,  please check if this is happening with your user account only or with multiple users.

All this information would help us understand the issue better and work accordingly. Looking forward to your response.

Hello,

1. latest version illustrator 24.0.1 on mac OS Catalina 10.15.1

2. Need to test this. (on other mac we don't get this isssue. There both working off the same NAS and both have all latest OS)

3. Only one user using that illustrator, our other mac has the whole creative cloud package

 

We'll test it out today and keep you posted.

Hello there,

we solved the problem. 

We tried to save to hard disk and the same problem happend.

When we changed the name from recto16/12.ai to recto 16-12.ai the file was saved correctly.

Strange but true.

Problem solved. 🙂
