When I change the size of an object (example a circle) in properties to a complete number on registering that size the value changes after registration. Granted its small but nonetheless annoying. Is there a fix or is this just a Illustrator glitch we have to live with?

Would you mind trying to reset Illustrator's preferences as described in this article (https://adobe.ly/3H9CaA0) and checking if it helps?
Disclaimer: Please note that renaming preferences folders will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also save a backup of the folders, the location of which is mentioned above.

Okay Anubhav I found them. Saved the file with old preferences (good exercise) and then reset settings and reopened Illustrator and bingo sorted. Thank you. Now I have another trick to store in the locker.
