Hi,
This is probably very basic - I'm trying to create a rough edged square like the lighter square in the centre of this image...
I've started by drawing a square using the rectangle tool and then I thought I'd paint some rough lines around the square and merge the lines with the square to form one shape.
I'm having difficulty with this, I don't think I'm using the correct tools, I'm trying to use the paint brush to for the lines around the square but I can't seem to make it merge properly without seeing overlaps.
Is there a better way to do this?
You could try Effect > Distort & Transform > Roughen.
The roughness inside th square could be achieved with an opacity mask (use a rough texture as a mask)
