Question

"Ctrl.." shortcuts force pan to right side of artboard

Hi All,

I've scoured the internet for an answer to this and I can't seem to find anything!

I recently built a new PC and in reinstalling my Adobe Suite I've had this peculiar problem with Illustrator in particular. I've reset all shortcuts and settings to default and checked everything is updated.

Every instance of using any shortcut that begins with the "Ctrl" key results in the view panning as far right to the art-board as physically possible - proving a real pain with the likes of "Ctrl + Z" and how I zoom in and out of drawings "Ctrl +/-". Weirdly enough this doesn't occur in InDesign or Photoshop for that matter.

As far as I can figure out it is the Ctrl key at fault, with just a click it pans across to the right - there is no custom shortcut that is relating Ctrl to Pan and I've since reset everything so that shouldn't be an issue.

I'm either missing something really simple or this has completely stumped me!

Any thoughts?

S

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your suggestions.

I also have InDesign and Photoshop installed and they both work fine. However, I can't find hot key settings in control panel - I did remove all macros and re-link my keyboard in hope it would do something but the problem persists.

Due to the computer being a relatively new build I have yet to install wacom tablets and any other plugins/apps.

In reference to the other post I too am only running a single wide aspect monitor.

Video Card - NIVIDA GTX 1060 3GB

OS - Windows 10 Home

I also removed the "Illustrator Prefs" file from the system to reset all preferences and the problem continues. I will try a full uninstall and reinstall to see.

Hi Sam,

Were you able to resolve the issue by reinstalling the app? Feel free to report if you still need assistance.

Regards,

Does this happen in other apps? Check your control panel for accessibility/disbaility options to see if ctrl hot key is enabled.

Have you installed any other apps that modify your system or illustrator (e.g.: wacom, Avast antivirus, clipboard enhancers, etc)
