"Non-Existent File" in Illustrator

Last night I created a logo and it was almost done. I saved several times as namefile.ai. This morning, opening Illustrator, I could not find the image in the recent files.

Plus: looking for on File > Recent i find my namefile.ai, but the dialog box appears: file does not exist (or non-existent... I don't know. I have the italian version. -> see the attachment).

Well: I tried looking for the file in my iMac, but it doesn't show up anywhere.

I am desperate, because now I am afraid to create anything, only to see it disappear into thin air!

Check if in Preferences > File handling & Clipboard > "Automatically save recovery data every" you can find some file in the path (clicking Choose button).

If that doesn't work, sorry that's mean the last changes of your file were not saved.

What location did you save it to?

Hi. Try selecting in the Favorites column of a finder window (at the left), the Recents files.  Maybe you can find it there.Screen Shot 2021-03-24 at 10.52.39 AM.png
