"Set the leading" not working

I am trying to edit the type on my design but when i try to "set the lead" it doesn't go up or down

Leading is the space between lines of the same paragraph. (Gutenberg used to put strips of lead to separate the metal blocks of type.)

 

Do you have one line of type? Or one or more paragraphs? It's a character setting, so the text has to be selected first, then you can change the leading in the Character panel (Window menu).

 

If it's still not working, select your text with the Type tool and show your Character panel.

 

You are most likely using InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop, but could be using something else. There is some fine-tuning depending on the application.

i drew a circle and i am trying the lower the words to be directly on the center with the line but it looks like adobe got rid of "set the leading"

So it's text on a path?

In that case use the baseline shift in the Character panel. You might need to show the options to even get that setting.
