My objects automatically stay selected after I click on them, requiring another click to resume editing. How can I fix this?

No, I didn't use Magnet. I used Display Pilot 2, the software for BenQ external monitors. However, I didn't enable the desktop partition function, and this issue didn't occur in the initial usage.

Hello @userhrugy3,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind trying to run Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and checking if it helps? Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and sharing your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Looks like normal Illustrator usage to me. Once you select an object in Illustrator, it does not drop the object after you transform it. You need to either:

  • click where no object exists to deselect
  • use Shift Command A

If you had items with fills, you can easily select between different objects by having this setting off.
