Random-Chaotic Type Appears After Loading File

Hi everyone, 

Opened up this file that I have been working on for the past couple of weeks. I've opened it up about a dozen times before this and never had a problem. Now, upon opening random letters have appeared every where across the file. They are unselectable and unmoveable. Any suggestions on getting rid of them or why this happened? I feel like this is a pretty simple file all around. As a note illustrator did not crash while this file was opened last, or since it has been opened again. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions.

This has been reported a couple of times and it would indeed be helpful to take a look at a sample Illustrator file.

Probably I'm overlooking something, but your link to the file does not allow to download the sample file, does it?

I opened the file, but there are no random letters as per your description above.

There is just a missing link.

This sounds like it might just be processing issue on my end. Maybe the GPU is having a hard time processing the graphics for some reason? 

I don't know, but on my end I am still seeing the letters even after quiting the program, and restarting my computer. 

I'll try a reinstall and see it fixes it.
