Random path with no anchor points?!

New Here ,

I have drawn a path to outline some lettering... when I go to fill it, there is a weird line cutting though, with no obvious way to fix it? Confused...!!!

Bonnie,

As I can see there is an open path, and the top of the unwanted fill is pointing at its end points, the left one seemingly being tha Anchor Point beneath View/Window.

I believe you may cure it by CkickDragging across that Anchor Point with the Direct Selection Tool, then pressing Ctrl/Cmd+J to join, and do the same with the other one.

Hey

A screenshot would be helpful here, so we can diagnose more effectively.

I'm going to hazard a guess though that the line you're seeing is not really there at all, and is the GPU acting up. Turn off GPU acceleration by clicking the rocket in the Application Bar and un-checking it in the dialog.

Let me know if that helps.

If this has answered your question, please mark it as answered, thanks!

Bonnie,

I wonder whether Ctrl/Cmd+E may help.

This toggles between GPU and CPU Preview, GPU causing the issue.

This is what GPU is about:

Ah, I think you're right there! The only thing is I'm on this shoddy CS2...  don't think join works... might have to re-trace it...

Bonnie,

As a general measure, to have the Direct Selection Tool work unerratically, you should deselect everything first, then use it (ClickDragging in this case).

And what Monika said.
