Random text with new text box

Hey guys, so I'm not too experienced with adobe but I have used photoshop and illustrator before. Every time I make a new text box a bunch of random text appears. Is this a new thing? I am using a new Razer laptop so it could be that but I wanted to check and see if anyone else gets this.

Ex.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Quis ipsum suspendisse ultrices gravida. Risus commodo viverra maecenas accumsan lacus vel facilisis.

That's the most recent line of text that appears now.

This is placeholder text. You can turn it off in the Illustrator preferences.

Yes, it'Illutrators a new thing. Lorem Ispum text is just a generic text used by a lot of designers for placeholders when creating a layout design. You can let it appear and just highlight it and type over it or if you go to your preferences, you can turn it off.
