Question

Recolor Dialog box has flawed algorithm for choosing base color.

Hello, when I open up the Recolor dialog box, I see a vertical list of colors. The color at the top is apparently called the "base color".  The base color is important because when I ask Illustrator to show me various color harmonies, it keeps the base color fixed.   However, the algorithm that illustrator uses to choose the base color is flawed. In my art, I had a little object that was hardly even visible, but apparently the color of this little object was extreme according to the algorithm, and it chose this little speck of an object to be the base color.  Obviously, the amount of area devoted to a color should be taken into account.  thanks.

So in this example, you're saying the base color is brown?

Yes.  This is defined somewhere in  an Adobe manual as the base color.

And if you ask for different color harmonies, you will see that color doesn't change.
