Recover files from auto backup location in Illustrator 29.5.1

Illustrator crashed and the last couple of hours of work are gone despite austosave every 2 minutes.

Mac 15.5

The document is saved to the Creative Cloud.

Adobe support only lists autosave help for 29.1 or earlier.

I have waited 15 min for an answer from the auto chat - no luck there.

Please help. Thanks

Sorry to hear about the crash and the lost work. I can imagine how frustrating that must be.

As the expert mentioned, please try checking the Creative Cloud website at https://adobe.ly/4lScsjc to see if the file is still available there with the latest update saved to it. If the file was syncing properly, it might still be recoverable from the cloud.

I'd also recommend saving your files frequently and using versioned filenames to create a consistent backup trail. It really helps avoid larger data loss in case of unexpected crashes.

Also, were you able to submit the crash report through the Adobe crash reporter dialog box when Illustrator crashed? If yes, please share the email address you used via DM, so I can locate the logs and investigate further. Reference: https://adobe.ly/4mgdnK3

Thanks for your response.  I have spoken with Adobe support.  Autosave did not work.  I can find the file but it has gone back to what it was this morning and the afternoons work is gone.  It is literally something I worked on all month and finally got it happenning and then phhht. It was suggested that preferences set for previous versions of the software could be causing performance issues.  To do a reset I would lose workspace setup and all the swatches (I create a lot of swatches). So as I have enough to recover right now I have not done the reset.  I can't believe we have to lose work in order to update Adobe Illustrator.  In order to assist performance (which is an appaling daily grind) I had previously been advised to turn off the file handling preference 'save to cloud every 5 min' as the autosave should be enough.  But not if the autosave does not work huh. So my work is gone. Thanks anyway.

Please note I mentioned above that Adobe Support only refers to earlier versions of the software - there is nothing current.  That is the link you gave here - It is not current.

Are you seeing the correct file when you log on to the Creative Cloud website? Can you download it?

Thanks for responding.  Yes I have the file but there is no record of the afternoons work - just this morning's version.
