Recovery error when crashing on illustrator and photoshop

In the past, when my app crashed without saving it, when I reopened it, there would be a dialog box saying my app had exited unexpectedly and it would reopen the file I was working on that had not been saved before. Now that feature no longer works. I also want to ask how to fix it

Never get yourself into a situation where the Recovery feature is your only backup. 

 

THings like power outages and battery failures happen. And when they happen while Illustrator saves your file then your file is most probably toast. So: save early, save often, save multiple versions.

I'm sorry to hear your files were not recovered. Would you mind providing some details about the circumstances under which these files were saved or edited and the location of the files where they were stored?

Also, kindly check if Auto Recovery is enabled under Illustrator's preferences (https://adobe.ly/4ePUUj9) and check if the AID files are still available in the recovery folder (https://adobe.ly/3ZvooPe) and share them here, so I can check it on my end.

Although I cannot guarantee a successful recovery, I will try my best to do so.
