rectangle tool is weird

So, when it comes to creating a rectangle tool, these weird things are going to appear. I just downloaded AI, so I'm a little lost, I dont know how to change this, but I know from tutorials: It shouldnt look like this xD

It would be very cool if someone could help me 🙂

I just expected 4 widgets for rounding the corners and in generel: Insiede the rectangle

It looks like the result you get when dragging with the Tilde (~) key depressed.

Can you check if ~ is stuck?

Did you restart Illustrator, reset Preferences?

I already restarted it a few times, one time it was normal, all the oder times, there were these many things in the rectangle. I think my ~ is not stuck

Just for troubleshooting purposes, what happens when you draw a rectangle with the tilde / accent grave key pressed?

Are you saying that you've only drawn one rectangle (in which case this is not normal)? If that is the case and this is your first install of Illustrator I would try uninstalling (through the desktop app—click on the three horizontal dots next to Illustrator in the apps section for the option to Uninstall) and then reinstalling through the desktop app.

This is how drawing with the tilde key looks on my machine, looks similar to your screendump.

Try to reset your preferences if the ~ key is not to blame.
