Reflect tool fails...

Hello I'm having problem with the reflect tool...

I used to work with Illustrator CS4 and there it was working magnificently!

Basically if i try to reflect a block of text the transformation point is set at the beginning of the text (where the anchor is)

and not centered on the object.

So if I reflect the text it will move completely rather than stay in the same position!

In CS4 the transformation point was centered as default...any idea how to do the trick on CC as well?

Thanks!

if i use point text, the transformation point is at the start of the first baseline.

if i use area text, the transformation point is at the centre of the text box.

By default, the reflect tool uses the text anchor point. If it is centered text it will be in the center. However, the reflect tool center of reflection can be set anywhere, just by clicking once then Option/Alt+dragging (Shift to constrain) to reflect and duplicate.

You can also use the Reflect Effect if you want the reflection to be live.
