Relink keyboard shortcut

I relink files in Illustrator pretty much every day all day long. Does anyone know if it is possible to set up a keyboard shortcut to relink files instead of constantly having to use the dropdown in the links panel? It would save me a TON of time. Haven't been able to figure out a way to do it or find any reference to it anywhere online. Thanks much.

You could use the Relink button in the Links palette, but you can also do it with a shortcut.

Since the Relink command is virtually the same thing as the regular Place command from the File menu, you may just apply a shortcut to the Place command in Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts.

In the Place command dialog you will have to enable the Replace option, of course.

version "30" of Illustrator, and still no ability to assign a keyboard command to Relink, and still no ability to have inline graphics. Both things which would improve productivity exponentially.

InDesign has been able to do these things for 20+ years (at least, inline graphics have been there since 2.0, not sure when the placed file management was updated to make that work better.

Super frustrating that these items continue to be overlooked on each release.

Astute Graphics, which are super plugins for Illustrator, are 50 times ahead in terms of vector design technology. And some technologies that are native to the program have been copied from AG. Yes, it's frustrating that we pay a subscription for this.

I have something.

Press Shift+Command+P, and the window will pop up. Select the image you want to replace.

Also, check the "Replace" box.

From next time, whenever you press Shift+Command+P, the window will pop up. Once you select your picture and press Enter, your picture will be replaced.

what do you mean "viritually the same thing as Place command", because it is not at all. There is no Replace menu item.

Read the whole text, at the buttom it clearly says "In the Place command dialog you will have to enable the Replace option, of course" - The PLACE command, with RE-place option (check box)...

Have you tried using the "Relink" button at the bottom of the Links Panel?
