Remove inner points

Explorer ,
Jul 12, 2021 Jul 12, 2021

After tracing, and/or merging multiple objects, there are often superfluous inner paths. Is there an easier way to remove them other selecting and deleting one by one? I can't seem to drag and select wihout including the main path.

LambdaEnt,

As I (mis)understand it, you can use Pathfinder>Add To Shape Area.

That's how it ws created in the first place. By merging, I meant Pathfinder:Unite. That doens't remove those inner paths, as they are alrady part of one path.

Please check out the layers panel. What is this? A group? A compound path?

You could possibly select the outer path, cut it, then select and delete all that fluff and then paste back your path.

It's a compound path. I'm trying to select the paths in the middle of the larger one.

LambdaEnt,

You ought to be able to just Uncompound it (also called Release) by Ctrl+Alt+Shift+8/Cmd+Option+Shift+8 and then Unite.
