Removing a Black background

It's probably been answered before, but how can I remove the background in a jpeg. White background in a jpeg using the live trace, but I can't seem to find a way to remove a black background.

Any advice

Before you live Trace the jpeg you could try

Edit > Ediit colours > Invert Colours .

Next trace with ignore white  and expand

Then Edit > Ediit colours > Invert Colours again

and when that doesn't work

start again in photoshop ...
