renaming items in my illustrator library.

I am creating a little assets library in Illustrator to share with my fashion students, but I have encountered a strange problem...

when attempting to rename my files, my keyboard keys do not correspond. I cant type in the drop down box, it just comes out jumbled....

so the text look like this...

once i press enter it corrects itself but i need to know what to tell my students?

What AI version and OS are in use???

what if you create/rename the Library online???

Does this happen when you are renaming in a Library view, not in a detailed element view? 
Could you please share what platform you are using, Ai version and OS?
