Repeated crashes with Illust 2018; how do I install 2017 version?

I've read a lot of forums about people's problems working with Illustrator 2018. I have the same problems. Repeated crashes. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Tried removing preferences. The only thing that others say worked for them was going back to the Illustrator 2017 version -- but how do I find and install the 2017 version?  Creative Cloud just installs the most recent (2018) version as far as I can tell.  I'm running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.1.   Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

In the desktop app apps section to the right of the app you will see a "V". Click on it and you will get a pull-down menu which will offer an option for "Other Versions". Click on that and you will be able to choose which version of the app you want to install.

Just to be clear, CC 2018 is actually the only version of the Creative Cloud programs which is fully supported for High Sierra. Which does not mean that it has not had its share of problems playing nice with Apple's latest. CC 2017 may actually work better for you but that may well be the result of the usual combination of intangibles such as your video card, processor, third-party plug-ins and whatever else differentiates your computer from one in which CC 2018 and High Sierra coexist peacefully. It's certainly worth a shot to go back to CC 2017 but there is no guarantee that it will fix the problem. Additionally, I would recommend making sure that you've updated both CC 2018 and High Sierra to their latest bug fixes first before going back to CC 2017.

Are you sure that the problems that you are having is related to the CC version?

Could be that it is your OS version that is the problem. There have been allot of complaints about that.

Since posting my original question, I updated to OS 10.13.3, but now my InDesign is crashing as well as Illustrator.  It's tempermental... sometimes opens and works okay, other times multiple crashes and hard to get it to open.  Both InDesign, Illustrator -- and sometimes Photoshop.  I'll fight with it a bit more, then maybe call for some expert help or computer repair.  Thanks for all your help!

That was embarassingly too easy... I had looked right past that option earlier when I was re-installing the 2018 version. I'll see if 2017 works, and if not mess around with my OS... updates and all that. THANK YOU!
