Hello everyone,

I can't find Right-to-left paragraph direction anywhere in Illustrator, I strongly need it when typing with Arabic. Please help!

Marhaba Arwa,

As Barbara mentioned above, you just need to uninstall existing Illustrator and download another version that supports ME fully. Here is a topic that will help you beside the one "Barb" mentioned… كيف تستبدل نسخة لبرامج ادوبي لاتدعم العربية بأخرى داعمة للغة العربية

Dear Omed,

If you have done all the steps and still your Illustrator doesn't show the Right-to-Left features for Arabic/Farsi/Urdu/Kurdish, then you must have missed one step here or there.

Kindly follow these steps in order to acquire the Middle Eastern version of Illustrator

If you have installed Adobe applications and found that it doesn’t support Arabic, then follow all steps from step#1.

  1. From the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop menu, click on All Apps to view a list of installed Adobe applications
  2. Click the three ellipses shown beside each installed application
  3. Choose Uninstall to remove the non-Arabic application and remove Preferences when prompted
  4. Once ALL existing applications have been uninstalled/removed successfully, click on the “Account” icon found on the top-right corner of the Creative Cloud desktop application and choose “Preferences”
  5. In the newly opened Preferences dialogue window, click on “Apps” on the left pane
  6. Scroll down to the bottom of the window, from the “Default install Language” drop menu choose English يدعم العربية in order to have Arabic support in Adobe applications, then click the “Done” button.

Now you may proceed to install Adobe applications once again.

You will need to install a MENA version of InDesign, which you can do via the CC Desktop application.

Find and install Hebrew or Arabic editions of InDesign CC or Illustrator CC
