Question

Rounding corners only on outside corners?

I know how to use the live corners tool on all, or selected corner points, but I am looking for the option to apply the desired corner radius on either all outside corner points or all inside corner points of a selected object or set of objects.

For example, a star has five tips and five inside corners. On a star, I can turn off all of the live corners, then manually select only the five tips to use the live corners.

I had been working on a font with roughly 200 characters and wanted to add the slightly rounded corners to all of them at once. I didn't see how to do it in Illustrator so I opened the file in a sign design program on my PC and did the job with one click: "round outside corners" at .02" radius. I have Astute Graphics on my Mac. I watched a lot of videos there, but don't see the option.

Any help would be appreciated.

CValley Xtream Path had this, but their server seems to be down. Let's not hope that they are gone.

For the star it's actually possible. Make the star like this and round the corners: https://youtu.be/U9_kesAzMoA

Hi Monika, I watched your video. Thanks for the reply. Very nice, but I used a star here as an example. It might be a W or a Q or any other shape that I want to add rounded corners only to the outside points. And, I hope to do this on hundreds of letters or random shapes at a time. MJ
