Same images, placed in the same positions, for multiple artboards

This problem is so irritating, I feel like killing myself.

I'm using Illustrator to create a multi-paged guide and each page is supposed to have the same logo and elements in the same place BUT YET, even after making sure they're in the same positions throughout, when I save these images, the elements are NOT in the same positions for each page after saving them as images.

The logos and elements would move slightly lower or higher as I go page to page of the saved images.

Even after making SURE they're in the right place: the artboards are all same sized, I grouped the logo with an invisible rectangle that is aligned to the corner of the artboard. I copied the grouping and aligned them to the same corner for all the artboards. And they are still not consistent after I saved them as images.

I even aligned the artboards beside and on top each other, to check that the elements are all aligned equally.
Please help before I shoot myself, thank you.

how are you exporting them, and how are you viewing them to determine they are not aligned?

I exported them using "Export for screens", as both jpg. I tried png also, but same result. "Export as" doesnt work also.

I view them via my Windows Photo Viewer, using my arrow keys to go through each photo. I uploaded this imgur as an album, and it's still not aligned.

Have you tried positioning it on one artboard, cutting it, then using Paste on All Artboards?

That being said, it sounds like this project is better suited to InDesign, where you could place your common elements on a Master page (and get auto TOC, auto page numbers, and indexing)

I used the ctrl-f method also, where it pastes the object in the same position for different artboard, still doesnt work.

there is a universal pixel grid in illustrator, independent of individual artboards. view it with View > Pixel preview.

look closely at the edges of your artboards. are they sitting perfectly on the grid, or are they between pixels to various degrees?

What is it that you are moving, placed images? You may want to turn off align to pixel grid then.

You did not mention what version you are using so will show in CC2017.

When does the shift happen?

  • in Illustrator when reviewing in the transform palette
  • after you make .jpgs with export for screens?

You  can send us a copy using https://www.dropbox.com  or similar. You can trim a copy of your .ai file down and delete everything except a before and after item, I actually prefer that way as less confusion..
