Hi,

I am running Illustrator 2023 with Monteray 12.3. When I try to save a file the save button is greyed out. I looked at previous discussions, and have been doing a workaround by copying and resaving exisitng files which seems to work. But is not a long term solution as I am not able to save as pdf etc.

If you run into this issue in the future (I have run into it), what I did was resize the window that prompted me to save my file. For some reason, it was greyed out, but once I maximized or adjusted my window, the save button appeared active again. This way, you won't have to update unless you absolutely want to. Just something to think about.

Hello @Star5,

It seems that the problem is linked to an older version of macOS. Would you mind updating the OS on your computer and checking if it helps resolve the problem?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hello @Star5,

We understand how frustrating it can be to not be able to save files in Illustrator. Would you mind checking if Illustrator behaves this way with all files, and if not, checking if the files you're having trouble with are saved on a removable/network drive or a cloud-synced folder (Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud, Google Drive, etc.)? If it is, kindly try working on your files from a local directory, like the desktop, and then manually copying it to the removable/network drive or cloud-synced folder and checking if it helps.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Could you please show a screenshot which button you are referring to?
