Scale text box not working

I am all of a sudden having issues scaling my text when dragging my text box. It will scale to a certain point, but then just snaps back to the original size the text was before scaling?

There is a max size for text at around 1200 Pt. Maybe you hit it?

    Oooo intersting, I never knew this....but I think this could be the problem! So my only option is to outline my text now and resize?

    You could apply the transform effect to scale the text: ffect > Distort & Transform > Transform.

    Text can stay editable that way.
