Hi @StianShowoff @SARA22110113elm8,

We are sorry for the trouble. We are investigating this issue, and we had a debug session with a couple of users, and deleting the Startup Scripts CC folder worked for them 100%.

Please share the screenshot of the error you are getting.

Also, I would suggest you delete it from the correct location. For some people moving the folder to Desktop or deleting it from a couple of locations has worked:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
C:\Program Files\C

Thanks for your time & patience, @Sara2346420798xw. The product team suggested renaming the "Startup Scripts CC" to "Startup Scripts CC.old" from this location: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe

Let us know if this error still persists.

I will be looking forward to your response.

Thanks for trying that. We are unable to replicate the issue at our end using the folders provided by you @Sara2346420798xw.

I would request you try deleting the Startup Script CC folder. If that doesn't help, uninstall the Bridge app if it is installed. If that doesn't help either, try updating the Windows & Illustrator to v26.2.1, released a couple of days ago, and see if that helps!

Please try and let me know how it goes.

Anshul Saini

Hi @Sara2346420798xw,

Hi,

Is there a solution to this problem? I'm experiencing the same problem. Don't know if the issue is connected, but when I try to export files containing high resolution images as PDF with the illustrator default setting the Illustrator-app crashes. When I try to load a color from libraries nothing happens.

I've tried renaming the folder to "Startup Scripts CC.old" this takes away the error message, but the other issues continue.

I am running v.26.2.1(64-bit) and Windows is updated, and I do not have the Bridge app installed.

Recently tried to uninstall every app and creative cloud desktop app and reinstalled it again, this did not fix the issues.

Hope this issue will be fixed soon

@Anshul_Saini After deleting the Startup Scripts CC folders in both locations the Script Error isn't popping up anymore, but the issue with export/save as PDF still persists. Loading colors from libraries is working for now.

It's the same as this error which was shared previously.

I'm still having issues with the script error and i can make package files. It's unresponsive and sometime it closes the application when I try to save. Why is a premium product that is almost the industry standard so bad?

Hi @Web+Silk,

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. To help resolve the problem, you can try deleting the Startup Scripts CC folder from the following locations:

  1. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
  2. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe

For some users, moving the Startup Scripts CC folder to the Desktop or deleting it from these locations has worked as a solution.

Please give it a try and let us know if it helps resolve the script error. If you encounter any other issues or need further assistance, feel free to reach out. We're here to help!

Best regards,

Anshul Saini

I've been getting this same Script Error, in Illustrator. The first one had the name InDesign in it, even though this PC hasnt ever run InDesign, as far as I know. I deleted that specific file and the problem stopped. Only to return again this time with the word PhotoshopCC. I have run Psd on this PC so I was cautious to delete the file but did anyway. Now it is happening with the word Illustrator in the Error report. It happens every single day in fact, once for every new file I create. I lose 5 minutes of work and a few more to restart. getting (recovered) file names everywhere. I am about to delete the whole folder but my boss will be paranoid about that!!
