Hi,

Does anyone know if something has been changed in SDKPlugPlug, between CS5 and CS6?

Loading, notification?

Thanks,

Thomas.

Hi Thomas,

There has been a change in SDKPlugPlug as the plugplug bundle has moved to a framework. There have also been a number of changes made to the APIs and Suites as well to SDKPlugPlug and backwards binary compatibility has not been kept so all plugins will have to at least be recompiled for CS6. There is more information in the Porting Guide in the CS6 SDK on what changes have been made and how to port your application.

Please ask if you have any trouble porting your plugin.

Thanks,

Robert

Up to CS5 plugins had binary compatibility from at least CS3. There have been a lot of changes at CS6 that broke binary compatibility. In another thread someone mentions that in CS7 the AIReal type will be changed from float to double, again breaking binary compatibility.

Does this mean that going forward binary compatibility will not be maintained between versions and all plugins will have to be recompiled every time a new CS version is released?
