yes! In the flyout menu of the pantone library you'll find a "show find field" option. turn it on an search away.

hope that helps

Hi Michael,

I've tried that option but it only allows me to search by the Pantone number, not the color name. For example, if I type in Emerald, which is the 2013 Pantone Color of the Year, nothing happens. However, if I type in the corresponding Pantone number for Emerald, 17-5641, it has no problem finding it.

Does anyone know how to search by the color name? Is there a work-around or a plug-in available?

Sorry, the search can only find information that is actually available in the name. Since Emerald is not part of the catalog name, you won't be able to find it. You'll need to search by catalogue number. If you have a printed reference of the color book or the pantone App for android or iOS you could look up the color name manually and use the cross-referenced catalogue number to find the swatch in Illustrator. That's about it.
