So, when I make something with my brush, I don't know what's going on with the coloring alongside the brush outline.

Okay, I'm on the 3 pt. Round and the Basic, and I was unable to do what the video showed.

Easiest would be to share a demo file that contains the brush and the shape you have drawn with it. Save that as an AI file, then change the file extension to .PDF and you can upload it in this forum.

But since you have a calligraphic brush: check if you have applied a fill to your path.
