Serious, serious, serious productivity problems in Illustrator

I will start by saying I clasify myself as a pro illustrator, I've weathered all the changes since illustrator took over Aldus Freehand, so please don't offer simple fixes for this problem. It is clearly a 2025 issue, I am suggesting serious workflow bug to a primary tool, moving vector lines.

Currently a wireframe key line keep popping away from the placed shape preview, often switching back sometimes switching further out. Absolutely no reason, glitchy? and No, there is NO STYLE affecting the preview attached, and no snapping to grid, point, no snapping period.

Please tell me there is a fix on the way? I can't use this as a tool when it creates misaligned artwork.

Again, as a long term user, this is more than disappointing. Subscription costs have doubled in the past 12 months and the amount of software defects seems to have risen with it, dropping productivity of the tools. Adobe please respond?

with thanks,

Welcome to the club of longtime Illustrator users who have been repeatedly betrayed by Adobe over the past year, as bug after debilitating bug has been introduced with each new "update."

Hello @Shesasheep@JodyRadzik37240164,

I completely agree that encountering bugs in the middle of work can be disruptive. To better assist you, would you mind sharing the exact workflow, along with a brief screen recording of the issue, so we can review it with the team?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I hear you Jody! I miss the box edition for this very reason... and being a high end user it's frustrating trying to find the right solution to a simple 'problem'. Lucky the MAX is on today, maybe something will sort itself out soon.

I was just speaking with a colleague who said that many of her friends who used to work at Adobe have left since they started a massive push to use AI in programming. I suspect that's been the cause of the constant disruptions in the product, the not-ready-for-primetime vibe-coding they are doing over there now. I'd also surmise that they've laid off a good-sized chunk of their testing staff and are now relying on us, the end users, to identify the problems.

I have tried this in the past with no effect, but will give it a go, thanks.

I can't seem to find the discussion thread, but I could have sworn I saw someone else post a similar topic within the past few days. Which version of Illustrator is installed? Have you tried installing the beta version or a previous version of Illustrator? I'm needing to keep a copy of version 28.7.10 installed to get around a different problem with the version 29 and 30 builds.

I am on 2025, no known updates released yet, although i have found a sharp increase of bugs and glitches prior to a point update release... also, looking back, I had tech problems right before the Adobe MAX event last year.
