Setting up Illustrator for Laser Engraving - Rulers Always visible

I'm setting up Illustrator to replace Corel Draw for my Trotec Laser Engraver - Speedy 100

Is there a way to have the rulers always visible with every document open in Illustrator ? 

Already getting tired having to activate them with every file I open.   I use them constantly and need them on at all times.
