Shape building tool making lines different thickness

Hello, 

I have been using the pen and shape building tool to make 3D letters as I find it helps me achieve the look I want better than using the 3D effects tool. 

However, it is making some lines (albeit ever so slightly) thicker than the others and it's driving me a bit mad. Does anyone know how to stop this?

I have tried playing around with expanding the shape (sometimes expanding twice, expanding at different stages etc) but nothing is working. Tbh you can only see is ever so faintly in both outline and preview mode, but it's the kind of thing that now I have seen I cannot un-see haha 

I think it's probably best demonstrated on the IWD post but who knows!

I believe it is a monitor matter; I see the lines as having the same width when scaled up to see the fronts of the letters IWD at 6".

You can make a large print and see, using a PostScript (emulating) printer (driver) or saving a copy as PDF and print from Acrobat.

I don't see the problem in your screenshots. Can you point to it?

Lines can look thicker, wenn there are multiple stacked shapes that all have a stroke in the same position.
