Copy a shape and paste between two letters in a text window. But Illustrator seams doesn't do this (like Indesign). It'is absurd!

For me, this is not absurd.

I use Illustrator for graphics and illustrations. InDesign is the layout program and for photos I use Photoshop. That works well for me.

Hello @Monika Gause, yes, it could really be that the OP means an object anchored in the text.

 

Maybe a workaround:

Should it certainly not be an extremely unusual shape - perhaps you could "misuse" a character from another font.
