Shapes change when exported to SVG

Hello I'm trying to export a simple logo with the SVG format. Unfortunatlely my stars are exporting as circles, even though the shapes are expanded.

Illustrator 24.2.3

Mac OSX • Big Sur 11.5.2

I was able to get the shape exported as SVG, with a bit of a workaround. For those who are curious: I cut out the shapes (that were not exporting properly) from the background layer. Then I duplicated the bg layer and filled it with the shape color and placed it behind the bg, and viola. Obviously this isn't a great solution if you are trying to animate the shapes moving.
