Since mid to late 2023 (referring to version, not real year) I have been having issues with Smart Guides. When Im holding an object/shape or anchor, and Im moving the mouse around, hovering over lines, shape borders, anchors, or anything else that should be revealing an appropiate snap point, nothing shows up. I have thy issue whether Im holding ctrl or not. Im referring to the indentifying mark thats displayed in pink: Path, Anchor, intersect, etc.
The best I can do is close all of Illustrator down, restart my comupter, and maybe it'll work for a few minutes. I've reset preferences and even reinstalled numerous times with the 2023 version, and it's just as bad with 2024. Its not to say it doesn't work at all, as in the options arn't enable properly. Occassionally the snap points will flicker, but only if I rapidly press, release, and press again the Ctrl button.
New documents see this problem less, but the glitch does start up eventually, and it's not gradual in occurance. Ive looked at many similar posts from 2020 to present, and it looks like adobe addressed some of them, but this is new to me as of mid/late 2023. No other aspects of Illustrator are giving me issues. No lagging. No issues saving or opening. Nothing. Just Smartguides.
Also, I use Astute Graphics. But I have had the issue with smartguides with and without Astute Graphics installed.
