Space objects along curved path

Participant ,

I'd like to be able to draw a path, and distribute objects along it at specific distances (I am drawing to scale.)  I don't want to use a Blend or a Pattern because I won't have the control I need over the spacing. I need specific spacing for this drawing.

What tools can I use for this?

Illustrator 25.2.1

Mac OS 11.2.3

I would do it this way:

  • Start with a Blend of two groups of objects. (stay with me)
  • Copy the path > Paste in Back > Lock
  • Select the blend and the path, then Object > Blend > Replace Spine
  • Adjust the blend with Blend Options and by adjusting the direction lines on the path
  • Object > Blend > Expand Blend
  • Unlock the locked Path
  • Adjust further if needed
  • Select the objects and path and Group them

If this doesn't work for you, tell us more about what you need.

Mdesign, Hi.

Another suggestion is to create a Scatter Brush.

Adjust your Fix Spacing %.

I tried what you described, but I didn't get the result I desired. Please see image.

BTW, I don't need the path to remain visible so I didn't do the "Copy the path > Paste in Back" part.
