Spell Check Selection

I have a design for an email campaign going in Illustrator and I'm giving my first draft to my boss for review. I put in the content I've received, and the rest of the text boxes that I don't have content for are just filled with dummy text (Lorem Ipsum). I want to spell-check the actual content, but I don't want to have to hit "Ignore" or "Add the Dictionary" on every single word of the Lorem Ipsum text. Is there a way to spell-check a single text box/selection at a time as opposed to the entire document? Thanks!

You can lock an object, or put it on a locked layer to hide it from the spell checker.
