When I expand the image and merge after, the strokes (created with the line tool) disappear while my brushed lines are fine.

Title edited by moderator to say "stroke" instead of "stoke".

When selecting both pen lines and brush strokes, the expand option changes to "expand appearance" after this is selected then you can do expand ( fill / stroke) and your merge operation will work. ( I use this method to color artwork as well )

So I made a design of a room using my drawing brush and the line tool. Now I want to colour each shape . Normally ( when I only use my brush ) I just expand the image and merge it so I can isolate the different areas and give them a colour. But now I also used the line tool and when I try to expand and merge it, the strokes ( created with the line tool ) disappear.

Issue: My strokes are gone

Can you please show before and after and please tell us which commands you exactly use?

Please do also show what kind of stroke exactly is applied to the different strokes?

Hi Tomas,

What happens when you switch between GPU and CPU rendering (Cmd+E or Ctrl+E)? Do the strokes reappear?

Are they visible in Outline View?
