I made a graphic style that, when applied to a group, does this.
The background color has to be the same as the fill of the counters.
When the Appearance is expanded (and the text outlined) the fill can be selected (Select > Same > Fill color) and changed.

Maybe this explains it better, it is the same, but with an additional fill and stroke:

Select yout text with the pointer tool and remove the fill and stroke from your text.
Go to the Appearance panel and add a new fill and stroke.
Change the stroke and fill stacking order by dragging the stroke item below the fill item in the appearance panel.

Does your text have a monochrome background?
I don't know how to make the contour in the "holes" really transparent. But you could automatically mask them with the background colour.

I believe I misunderstood you.
Do you want unstroked counters like this example?

I guess I needed to tell you why I am doing this. Using for my laser cutter so making it appear to not be stroked I don't think will work for me. I may just have to keep doing it the way I was doing it. I downloaded your file and may be more work trying to fix it then just stroking it and cutting out the inside bigger after I expand it.

For a visual effect the graphic style is fast , but for your purpose you would need to expand and delete the counters anyway.

What do you want to know?
The pathfinder effect "Ãœberlappungsbereich entfernen" should be "Trim" in English. That is the most important part. No further translation is required.
But for your laser cutter you definitely need to "Expand Appearance" in menu: Object.
Hope that helps a little.
