Question

Stroke Profiles Are Pixelated

I am slightly new to Illustrator so any help is appreciated. When I create a line, add stroke, and then apply a stroke profile, the line becomes pixelated. I have never had this issue before and nothing else is pixelated. Everything else looks perfect. Its only when I apply a stroke profile to the line with stroke.

Things to note

- This is new and I have never had this happen before

- It doesn't matter what color it is

- I tried CMYK and RGB

- I created a new document from scratch and that didn't work

- I have anti aliasn checked

- I don't have the pixel view on

- I have it set to 72 ppi

- I tried using a different size document, zooming in and out, nothing along those lines seemed to make a difference

You can see the red line there is pixelated.

If you zoom-in can you see the pixels get bigger?

Have you tried toggling GPU/CPU (Ctrl-E)?

While Illustrator is a vector app, your monitor of course uses a pixel grid to display the artwork. And especially with stroke profiles that change the width over long distances you will notice the pixel grid.

Hm, so you are saying that its my graphics on my computer? I don't think so. Like I said, I have never had this issue before and its the same computer. Just last week it was perfect. I also tried sending the file and looking at it on different devices. Same issue.

No. I'm saying that it's your monitor.

If you didn't have it on last week's file, then please show that for comparison.
