Hi everyone. When I start the app, the computer suddenly stutters. It's like having a 30 year old computer. Other applications run fine until I open Illustrator again.
Pleas help!
Spec:
i7, 32 GB RAM, nVidia 3060Ti, latest Win 11

What version of Illustrator? Is this happening since an upgrade of Illustrator or the OS? If since an Illustrator update and you used the option to import previous settings and preferences then try deleting your Illustrator preferences. This will restore the program to its defaults. Hopefully, this will help the issue.

To reset preferences on a PC:
You can try the quick way of resetting on a PC which is to hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift when launching Illustrator and respond affirmatively when asked if you want to reset. There have been some recent reports that the window asking if you want to reset is not popping up but that the prefs are being reset anyway. If this works great but if it doesn’t you may have to manually delete them.

To do so: On Windows 7 and above the preference files are hidden. To find them go to the Control Panel and open Folder Options and then click the View tab. Then select “Show hidden files and folders” or “Show hidden files, folders or drive options” in Advanced Settings. Then delete (or rename) the folder at the end of this path: C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator [version number]\ Settings\<Language>. Make sure that Illustrator is closed when you do this. When you relaunch the program it will create new preference files and the program will be at its default settings.

The advantage of manually deleting preference files is that after you’ve reset up the program (make sure that no document window is open) to your liking, you can create copies of your personalized “mint” preference files (make sure that you quit the program before copying them—that finalizes your customization) and use them in the future to replace any corrupt versions you may need to delete.

Hello, thank you for your advice.
Now I have Illustrator v29.0.1 and It happens after every upgrade of Illustrator. I tried deleting my Illustrator preferences, but it didn't work. Another Apps (Photoshop, InDesign,...) run OK until I start Illustrator. After start of Illustrator every apps and computer are stucked.  It's very frustrating. 😄

Is the driver for your computer's graphics card up to date? Very often the GeForce Experience app has to be launched to check for driver updates; the drivers usually don't automatically download when they're released. The latest NVidia Studio driver is v565.90, released 10/15/2024. If your computer has any other periphreals attached (such as a Wacom tablet) make sure the drivers for those devices are up to date.

If your computer has any previous versions of Illustrator installed (and they're not being used) it might be a good idea to uninstall them. If performance issues persist after updating drivers and resetting the Illustrator Preferences file then it might be worth it to use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to completely remove Illustrator and then do a clean re-install of the application.
