Illustrator is not a general purpose PDF editor.

Nobody knows exactly how that PDF has been created. The fonts might have been renamed. Essentially when you import a PDF you get what you get.

Do you have to edit the text?

No Im just adding a visual and re saving

i can see the font that is used to create the report that i made into the pdf and this is the arial family

is there an option to pict the substituted font ?

The renaming of fonts inside a PDF is done automatically. It is something happening internally.

Does it work when you create a new file and then place the PDF in it (it has to be linked). In order to get to the vector paths you would have to Object > Flatten transparency and check "Outline text".
