SVG file invalid

"This SVG is invalid. Please validate it before opening." This error pops up when I attempt to open the file. I accidentally saved my work as an SVG instead of a PDF or .ai file, and now all of my progress appears to be lost. I've tried validating it, but the file size is too large for the validation process. When attempting to convert it to PDF, I only get one image and some text, missing the rest of the content. This also happens when I open it into a browser.

What other solution do I have? It is essential to get back all of the info I have there. And it is quite urgent too, as it's for an exam I have.

Does it still open in Inkscape? It's free, you just have to download it.

 

Since you saved as an SVG, some editability in your file might be lost.

I have just installed it and it opens, but a big amount of data was lost. Is there any other solutioin?   In the preview icon from the illustrator board I can see all the layers.. It is so frustrating..

If you open it in the browser, can you see more of the content?

If not in one browser, then another one? Try Chrome?

Do you have a backup? Saved a different version of the file that yoiu can recover with your system?
