Hi all, please help!

I'm updating some icon svg files for a website I'm working on.

The file looks like this before editing (screengrab from finder)

When I open the file in illustrator and make an edit and save - the file now looks like this: (i've changed it to a rocket ship)

They look totally different and the problem is that when the rocket icon is added to the site - it does not show at all.  I simply want it to replace the last icon!

Am I saving the file incorrectly - how do I get it to save with all the white space and the icon itself in the top left hand corner!

Thanks in advance!

Impossible to know. You have not provided any specific info about editing procedures, save options, the actual SVG file/ SVG code and so on. And the file not showing up on the web server is a whole different matter that very likely doesn't even have anything to do with AI. From the server needing time to refresh its cache to permissions issue preventing the file from being overwritten correctly this could be anything. You need to be much more specific and explain your setup and procedures.
