Swatches do not save?

I am working on a project for our company that uses specific colors. I loaded all the swatches I needed from my CC library to the swatches panel in the project. I also created a pattern.

I closed the program and when I reopened this morning all that that swatch work is gone and it is replaced with the standard swatches. Do I really have to redo everything for a project every time I reopen it?

Please describe what exactly you did step by step. The swatches panel is set to display all kinds of swatches?

    1. Cleaned out default and unused swatches by deleting.

    2. Added colors and themes from CC library to swatches.

    3. Saved and closed document.

    4. Reopen document-aaaaand now they reappear!

    Must have been a glitch!

Swatches are saved document wide not application wide.

If you want certain swatches in every new document, either:

    1. set up a template file

    2. set up a new document profile

    3. save them to a swatches library and set it upto be permanent. Then you can pick swatches from the library. But the CC library would serve the same purpose.

I am trying to save for just this document. I set up everything for this particular document, but when I reopen the document all that swatch work is gone.

So you opened the same document and the swatches you created inside of it are gone?
